Caer
Avallach Farm LLC sits on ~45 acres of mostly woodland in
the town of Southbury, CT. The land we are on has been in the Fildes
family since the 1950s, when George and Doris purchased the land after
moving to Southbury from the Fairfield, CT, area. We, David and Karen
Fildes, operate the farm today and Doris lives in a second house on
the property.
In 2002
we began a major construction project involving excavation and the
building of a new barn from MD
Barns of PA, LLC. Many thanks to our sales coordinator, Faith
Mackert, who did an outstanding job coordinating the project and helping
us to design just the right barn for our needs. We also want to thank
George Stone of H.H. Stone Construction for handling
all the excavation work. We are very pleased with what we ended up
with and look forward to many years with this fabulous new structure!

We have
an outdoor ring measuring 125' x 80' and both individual and group
turnout paddocks. The stalls along one side of the barn also have
individual run outs that measure 12' x 24'.

We
live on the property and therefore our ponies have our utmost attention
and care and we are very much involved in their day-to-day care. All
of our foals are handled daily and learn early on how to lead, stand
for the vet and farrier, and be groomed.
