14.1 h black pony mare ... possibly Welsh/Morgan

Branwen came to us as a rescue mare needing to be re-homed as a result of a divorce along with her pasture mate, Gracie, a Quarter Horse mare. These mares had been health wise kept up to date with all their shots, trims, etc. but had not been handled much in the last four years. They arrived at Caer Avallach Farm on October 27th and will remain for as long as is necessary to find them great new homes. They have both fallen into a routine on the farm and seemed to have adapted pretty quickly to their new lives.

Branwen is a very pretty pony standing 14.1 h. She is between 10-12 yrs old as verified when her teeth were floated although she acts much younger in her experiences.

UPDATE: During the week after Christmas, Branwen spent some time at Kasson Ridge Farm in Bethlehem, CT, where we would have access to both an indoor arena and a trainer. We can now confirm that she is green broke to saddle and quietly walks and trots. She is just learning to canter but is so smart that within three days of working with her she was picking up both leads. She also showed us that she is not a difficult mare to train and in fact she was quite fast in learning what we asked of her. She was exposed to a large show barn atmosphere with horses galloping and jumping around her in the ring and she proved herself to be very sane and quite pleasant for a greenie! My trainer calls her a “60-day pony” meaning that within 60 days of consistent work she will not only be w-t-c but also jumping. She’s that smart.

If you are interested in Branwen and would like to find out more information, please contact Karen at karen@cafarm.com or call (203) 264-9820 (please leave a message). Please note that her price will increase as we put more training and time into her.
