Anotha Toughcookie ("Elsie") is an OTTB project purchased from Suffolk race track in November of 2009. Elsie took the winter off and was recently re-started under saddle by Nancy Cole of Northern Lights farm in Bethany, CT.
Elsie is a beautifully marked and flashy chestnut mare standing 16 hands, with lots of chrome. She is very quiet both on the ground and under saddle and has an easy-going attitude about her post-racing life.
As of today (4-24-10) Elsis is in a fitness program and is building up both her endurance and strength after taking the winter off. She has had 30 days of professional training and is now at home in Southbury continuing her work program. She is quite respsonsive to the leg aids and wants to please, so this combined with her easy attitude will make her a great summer project.
Video below shows Elsie on her first day home after 30 days in re-training. We will update the site with new videos as the spring progresses.
We are offering two of our broodmares, Quillane Tica ("Maddie"), and Woodlands Best Dressed ("Cami") for lease this coming breeding season. If you breed hunters or sport ponies you should take a look at these outstanding mares as a possible addition to your program. See more of Maddie on her page.
